Starting off, the Riverside South area is growing dramatically. Over the past few years, there has been double-digit growth in the area, as people from all age and income brackets look at both the houses and condos in the area. It borders the line between urban and suburban Ottawa, as it is close enough to downtown to provide the benefits of a large city with the spacing and environment wanted by young families. The area has been expanding a bit as well, moving more towards the Leitrum and Manitock neighborhoods, but not so much that sprawl and traffic become huge problems. On the west side, the Stittsville neighborhood offers similarly affordable opportunities.

On the flip side (literally, on the east side of Ottawa as opposed to the west) are the Hunt Club and Orleans/Chapel Hill areas. These are both active and fun communities where crime is fairly low and natural sights and beauties are numerous. The Rideau River runs near the Hunt Club area, while Orleans/Chapel hill sits further north near the Ottawa River. Both areas offer houses for rent in Ottawa at fairly affordable prices while also letting residents enjoy an environment closer to the natural beauty than the urban downtown. However, residents remain close enough to the city itself to go back and forth without too much trouble – allowing them to enjoy both bike paths and broadways at their leisure.
