Downtown Vancouver is the area nestled on a peninsula surrounded by Burrard Inlet and False Creek. The area is home to many high-rise buildings, and works as a major transportation center for the region with rail lines, bus lines, multiple bridges, streetcars, and water taxis. As such, the area is highly walkable for residents, and apartments for rent in downtown Vancouver can fetch a premium because of the proximity to the downtown business area, sporting arenas such as BC Place Stadium and Rogers Arena, and cultural centers.

The Yaletown area is a fairly well-populated area, with a mix of up-and coming young professionals, both singles and young couples. There are not many houses in the area, because the population is well-off but still young, not having settled down quite yet. The area has been recently rebuilt from being a heavy industrial area, but is now quite popular with the younger crowd. The area has much to offer in terms of downtown Vancouver apartments for rent, though, and finding apartments for rent in downtown Vancouver will provide a multitude of choices, albeit somewhat expensive choices. The cost of living in the downtown core is much higher than outside of downtown, and as such downtown’s rental prices rival the ritzy North Vancouver area in terms of affordability.

In addition to Yaletown, the Coal Harbour neighborhood can have some appeal to new residents. Sitting between the financial district, Vancouver Harbor Water Airport, and shoreline shippers and manufacturers, the area also has a number of downtown Vancouver apartments for rent at slightly more affordable prices.

Lastly, the Gastown area had been much-maligned for years, but is recovering in a way to put the area in some demand again. The Gastown area may continue to improve with an influx of artistic locales, so good, cheap deals for apartments for rent in downtown Vancouver can be found before the secret gets out to a wider audience and demand increases.
